VinoUS Media Review
Rated 97
The Hilt's 2017 Pinot Noir Old Guard is soaring and stratospheric in its beauty. Positively riveting in the glass, the 2017 is laced with gorgeous aromatics and captivating precision throughout. Dark red/purplish berry fruit, blood orange, wild flowers, mint and lavender all open up with air, but it is the wine's overall balance that is simply breathtaking. The 2017 is translucent, expressive and simply majestic. There is not much more that I can add. Vineyard sites are 80% Sanford & Benedict and 20% Radian. Drink 2022-2032. (Antonio Galloni)
Wine Tasting Notes
Red and green with wild plum, raspberry, dried tobacco, green peppercorn and dried porcini mushrooms. Rosemary and thyme. ?xpansive and supple. Hibiscus tea. Round and generous. Tightens in a delicious way with vinous tannins that cover the palate and roll seamlessly into a long and lively finish. Savory, dusty and crunchy. Perfect mix of green herbs and exotic spice with deep, dark fruit. Refined and elegant wine with a wild side. A wine of depth, class and pleasure.
