Rated 93
EDITORS CHOICE
Well-structured, this textural and delicious wine fills the mouth with grippy tannins, snappy raspberries, black tea and rhubarb. Although not too deep in color, it has a full body and lots of flavor impact. Plus, the wine is available in quantity at an affordable price. Pair with braised lamb shanks or mushroom risotto.
Wine Tasting Notes
The microclimates within the Sonoma Coast AVA encompass the western part of Carneros and the Petaluma Gap. These vineyards have a cool climate and low yield, which enables Pinot Noir grapes to ripen slowly while maintaining their natural acidity. This results in a well-balanced wine with rich flavors, smooth texture, and refreshing acidity. Aged mainly in large oak casks and older "neutral" barrels, the Schug Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir showcases notes of cherries, strawberries, and spice, culminating in a vibrant finish that pairs perfectly with grilled fish, poultry, or barbecued meats.
