TV tie-ins have become common place in the alcoholic beverages industry with massive successes like The Game of Thrones whisky and wine series and the Walking Dead’s Augie’s Ale. Now, a new Tie-in is coming and it centers on everybody’s favorite DEA agent. Schraderbrau is coming to a fridge near you just in time for summer! This May, the homebrewed German-style Lager made by Breaking Bad character, Hank Schrader, will finally be created in collaboration with Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. and Hank himself, Dean Norris. Norris has been trying to get this beer made since Breaking bad ended and fans haven’t stopped asking the actor about the beer since.
Says Norris, “My main concern was that it wasn't a gimmicky-type thing. We wanted to make sure someone wasn’t just buying it to put it on their shelf—although, they’re welcome to put it on their shelf as well. We wanted them to taste it and go, ‘Wow, that’s perfect.’ Everybody that has tasted it has used the word "fantastic," so we really love it”.
The actor has been actively and excitedly sharing the brewing process of Schraderbrau on his Instagram account. And this won’t be the end. There are plans for a winter ale, a special "Oktoberfest" style, and a summer pale ale. Norris even hinted at a collaboration with everybody’s second favorite DEA agent, Gommie, for a cerveza style beer. Norris, in describing Schraderbrau, said, “We’ll have it online and some national retailers. It'll retail somewhere between $5.99 and $6.99 a bottle. It's got a 6.3 ABV, so it's a nice little buzz in a 22-ounce bottle”. The bottle will hit shelves in late May.
