The Beginning of Bacardí
The Bacardi family story takes place in Santiago de Cuba. In 1862, Don Facundo Bacardí Massó had a dream of making rum. That dream led him to buy a distillery that would become the original Bacardi Distillery. It was a small distillery, but a distillery all the same. It got him started, and he started making rum.
After over a century and a half of rum-making, the Bacardí brand has become the most-awarded rum in the world. The Bacardi company remains family owned and dedicated to making quality rum through an extensive rum-making process. What began as a small dream with a small distillery became a worldwide sensation. Whether you've seen Bacardí Rum line the shelves at your local market or heard it in a song on the radio, Bacardí is everywhere, a global success.
Flavors On Flavors On Flavors
Bacardí is full of flavor, and there are a lot of Bacardí Rum flavors to back up that claim. Think of a flavor, and Bacardí probably has it!
Want something delicious and exotic? Grab some Bacardí Coconut Rum or Bacardí Tropical Rum.
Looking for something a little more subtle? Try Bacardí Lime Rum or Bacardí Grapefruit Rum. They're refreshingly full of citrus flavor and work great in cocktails!
However, at Bacardí, it's not just about the flavors. Bacardí makes several aged rums that come from the Bacardí family's private selection. They're complex, rich, and smooth. Definitely a must-try!
Here's a fun fact for you! After an unfortunate end to the Havana Club Company, Bacardí bought their original recipe and has continued making all Havana Club products. After over 160 years in rum-making, Bacardí continues to expand!

Bacardí quickly became a delicious rum base for cocktails. Does the Cuba Libre cocktail sound familiar? INSTRUCTIONS
Get your blenders out and get ready to transport yourself to an island far away.
Add pineapple juice, Bacardí Superior Rum, cream of coconut, and a handful of crushed ice into your blender. Blend until smooth.
Pour your blended mixture into a tall glass. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry. If you have a tropical umbrella, now is the time to use it. It'll elevate your cocktail and make it all the more festive! Serve and enjoy!
Mai Tai
Many people believe that the Mai Tai was created in Hawaii. That would make sense, given its tropical nature and all. However, the cocktail was invented at Trader Vic's Restaurant in Oakland, California.
Here's what you'll need for a marvelous Mai Tai:
INSTRUCTIONS
Add Bacardí Superior Rum, orange curaçao, orgeat, lime juice, and a handful of ice in your cocktail shaker. Shake until well chilled, then strain over a cocktail glass filled with ice.
To achieve the gradient that Mai Tai's usually have, slowly pour your Bacardí Black Rum over the back of a spoon. (Bacardí Black Rum develops in heavily charred oak barrels, giving it a lovely, intense flavor palette.) Doing so will create the gradient you want.
Garnish with a lemon slice and a sprig of mint. Serve and enjoy!
