As for the lighter reds in the portfolio, there is the 2006 Charbono, one of the few made in California that merits attention. This wine shows nice notes of animal fur, pure berry fruit, a hint of jamminess, but low acidity and a nice textural mouthfeel. It is a classy bistro red to drink over the next several years.
