Hard to exaggerate the beauty of this mountain-grown wine, which is based on Cabernet Sauvignon but contains the other four classic Bordeaux varieties. Although it's very tannic, those tannins are remarkably soft. Nearly all-new oak provides a framework of smoky caramel, delicious enough, but just an accompaniment to the blackberries, black currants, cherries and dark chocolate. A fantastic wine for drinking now, and should last for many years in the cellar.

Dark, brooding and laced with black fruit and spice, the Legacy has an immense presence. Cola, coffee nib and salted licorice run the length of the wine's aromas and flavors, with black currant and damson plum rounding out the richly textured palate. Seamless and complete, Legacy is a testament to the art of blending from benchland, mid-mountain and high elevation blocks - the latter of which adds a formidable tannin and mineral element to the wine's texture and aromatic intrigue.
