The 2022 Chenin Blanc Old Vine comes from 3 vineyards, all older than 35 years old, cropped around 30hL/ha, whole bunch pressed, half fermented and matured in 300 and 500-liter French oak and half in stainless steel for 11 months, at which point they are blended. It has a more complex bouquet than the Original Chenin, with yellow fruit, hazelnut, and a bit of jasmine coming through with aeration. These aromatics are very involving. The palate is wellbalanced. The texture of this Chenin is its great attribute: waxy/resinous. Thefinish is vivacious with lemongrass and a dab of white pepper. Wonderful. Drink 2024-2036.(Neal Martin)
