VinoUS Media Review
Smoke is the first thing that comes to mind as you take in the 2019 Fiano Cometa. Musky dried peach and nectarine, crushed almonds, fennel and gorgeous yellow florals join the mix with time in the glass. This is soft and lifted, as an inner flintiness gives way to savory baked apple and wild herbal notes. There's a deeper richness here that only cellaring will help bring fully to the surface, as this tapers off poised yet long and almost salty in character. The 2019 Cometa already provides a lot of pleasure, but the best is yet to come. This is a serious glass of Fiano. Drink 2023-2030.(Eric Guido)
Wine Tasting Notes
A single-variety Fiano from limechalk soils which contribute to the enhancement of the aromatic markers of Mediterranean macchia owned by this vine. Thus, between broom flowers and thyme, the delicate aromas of chamomile, hay and mandarin can also be savored. A mineral palate with vibrantly savory traces which quiver and quench. Then the rhythm changes to become slower and more harmonious, an invitation to sip this outstanding white wine with the correct quietude enjoying its every change of tone. The finish presents a silky tactile sensation with a refined aftertaste of ripe apricot, of almond flowers and basil flowers.
