Wine Enthusiast Review
Rated 94
Nutty and oaky, the wine made from 40-plus-year-old vines, this is a rich and aromatic white that impresses in its balance and complexity. Exotically fragrant quince, melon and dusty gravel contribute subtle fruit and texture.
Wine Tasting Notes
Perhaps the most unique Chardonnay in the Lynmar Estate collection, this wine is crafted from Rued Clone grapes grown on 40-year-old heritage vines on a single block of Quail Hill Vineyard. We begin with a 24-hour cold soak on the skins before pressing off the juice, adding intriguing layers of texture and nuance. A rich golden hue in the glass, this wine brings forth exotic aromatics of honeysuckle, fresh yellow peach, jasmine and notes of beeswax. On the palate, bright flavors of lychee, candied orange peel and nectarine are prominent. Vibrant acidity melds with a textured finish that lingers on the palate.
