Wine Spectator Review
Rated 90
Cherry and red plum flavors are fresh and focused, framed by notes of smoke, herb and licorice. Light, firm tannins support the polished texture, while balsamic acidity sweeps the finish.
Wine Tasting Notes
The Vinas Viejas is the big brother to the regular Garnacha. Made from 100% old vine Garnacha (a minimum of 45 year old), grown in non-irrigated vineyards, the Vinas Viejas is polished, elegant and layered with soft lush fruit. Aged in American oak (60%) and French oak barrels (40%) it has a complexity and flavor profile unheard of at this price point.
