Jeb Dunnuck Review
Rated 97
All Syrah from the Silver Eagle Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast, the 2018 Syrah Fuego Y Mar is magical juice, offering textbook cool-climate Syrah notes of lavender, violets, bacon fat, and bay leaf as well as beautiful red and black fruits. It's elegant and full-bodied, has good acidity, and is just a brilliant Syrah. It should cruise for over a decade in cold cellars, but there's no harm in opening bottles today. Drink 2021-2032.
Wine Tasting Notes
The Fuego y Mar is initially tightly wound, and promises to be a knockout. The nose unravels to reveal gorgeous juicy boysenberry, oil-cured black olives, violets, black peppercorn, bittersweet chocolate. The palate is insanely silky, plush, and seamless, with a seemingly endless finish. This wine will easily cellar for 10-15 years or more.
