An Intricate Blend is Winemaking Art, Like a Tapestry Woven Together of Many Threads.
TASTING NOTES
The House of the Dragon Lodi Red Wine is velvety and dark in color with aromas of cocoa, cranberry and black currant. Rich maple, dark red fruit, toffee and creamy caramel coat the palate and add to the balanced and juicy mouthfeel. Finishes with layers of dark berries and coffee. Alcohol 13.9%
WINEMAKING
A blend of the classics - 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot and 8% Malbec - punctuated by 20% Zinfandel, a notorious renegade from the appellation. Aged in French oak with medium toast for nine months to smooth off the rough edges.
VINEYARDS
Located directly east of San Francisco at the edge of the Sacramento River Delta, the Lodi appellation is noted for its classic Mediterranean climate, distinctive sandy soils and heritage old vines.
