Herradura Tequila has been paving the way for the tequila industry for decades! Part of the Brown Forman family, Casa Herradura has called Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico, home for over a hundred years and continues to thrive.
Let's learn about the craft behind Herradura Tequila's popular options and have some cocktails you'll surely enjoy!
A Breakdown Of Silver, Reposado, Añejo, & Ultra Añejo
Herradura makes quite the collection of tequila. Herradura Silver Tequila, Herradura Reposado Tequila, and Herradura Añejo Tequila are the main three options you'll find yourself reaching for. Let's dive right in.
Herradura Silver Tequila is first on our list. After resting in American white oak barrels for 45 days, the Silver Tequila takes on subtle oak notes and a distinctly sweet taste. Think cooked agave, vanilla, and wood, and you have yourself the utterly smooth Herradura Silver Tequila.
Next, we have Herradura Reposado Tequila. Herradura Reposado deserves to be in a class of its own. Why? Because Herradura introduced reposado tequila to the world. In 1974, Herradura released the first-ever Reposado tequila. Aged for more than 11 months, Herradura Reposado sets the bar high with slight spice and its rich amber color. Think cooked agave, vanilla, butter, and a smooth, sweet finish for the Reposado.
Herradura Añejo is aged for 25 months in American white oak barrels and engulfs your senses in notes of toasted oak, cooked agave, and dried fruits. It's smooth on the palate and rich in flavor.
Next, we have the unbelievably smooth and filtered Herradura Ultra Añejo Tequila. It's smooth at the start and the finish. The Ultra goes through a filtration process to "remove color and enhance smoothness." Decadent notes of caramel, honey, and toasted almonds will come through to satisfy your palate.
More Herradura Tequila
Wait, there's more Herradura Tequila to choose from!
First, we have Herradura Selección Suprema Extra Añejo. The Selección Suprema is what we call a premium tequila. Aged for 49 months in American white oak barrels, the Herradura Selección Suprema Extra Añejo is smooth, complex, and rich in flavor. Floral notes, along with some spice and subtle sweetness, will burst onto your palate. This is a must-have in your liquor cabinet for all the tequila connoisseurs.
The Herradura Legend Añejo is another añejo to add to your list of must-haves. Aged for 12 months, the Legend is naturally fermented and barrel-aged in special barrels. The grooves in these special barrels give the tequila a deeply engrained toasted oak feel. The Legend is a luxury tequila made with 100% blue agave.
Some other Herradura tequilas include the Herradura Colección de la Casa and Herradura Double Barrel Reposado. Each Herradura Tequila is made with care and the finest ingredients.
