Rated 98
The 2019 Syrah Two Become One is up there with the finest Syrahs in California. Like the 2020, it includes a good portion of white grapes, with the final blend being 94% Syrah, 3% Mourvèdre, and 3% Roussanne, with 25% stems and 20 months in 70% new oak. Rocking aromatics of peppery herbs, violets, smoked meats, and bright blue fruits all define the bouquet, and it's full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, with a more focused, chiseled, lengthy mouthfeel that carries plenty of tannins. This complex, nuanced, incredibly impressive Syrah will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise for over a decade in cold cellars. Drink 2024-2035.
