James Suckling Review
Rated 92
Lots of new-wood vanilla at the moment, which seems flashy and superfluous, even with tons of blackberries on the nose. But it will deliver in the end. Full-bodied with abundant, mealy tannin on the palate, but could do with more center-palate flavors. Long, vanilla-driven finish. Better after 2022.
Wine Tasting Notes
In this amazing Malbec, the Petit Verdot (8%), Cabernet Franc (6%) and Syrah (1%) are noticeable, as they improve the final wine, which has brilliant purple color. The nose is dominated by red plums, morello cherries, figs, dried apricots with a delicate perfume of violets, and harmonized elegant notes of vanilla, chocolate and toast. This is a full-bodied wine of great structure and concentration. The excellent balance between acidity and round ripe tannins results in a wine with great personality. It has a pleasant and lingering finish.
