Jeb Dunnuck Review
Rated 90
The second Rosso coming from Banfi, the 2020 Rosso Di Montalcino takes on more depth and complexity, with a more polished feel of ripe cherry, Mediterranean herbs, and pine. Ripe throughout, with the structure to boot, this is an impressive Rosso and really has a lot of character as a baby Brunello. It is rosy, medium-bodied, and ripe with cherry fruit and dusty tannins. It is a solid wine to drink over the next 5 years.
Wine Tasting Notes
Brunello's "younger brother," produced from select Sangiovese grapes and aged in barrique for 10 to 12 months. Intense ruby red in color with violet reflections. Fresh bouquet with typical varietal characteristics of violet, cherry, and plum. Full and elegant in taste, with a surprisingly long finish.
