Irresistible Christmas Cocktails to Brighten Your Holiday Season

You don't need to wait for your next holiday party to enjoy delicious cocktails!

Make some of these delicious recipes to make your holiday gathering one for the books!

Holiday Season Drinks

Are you hosting your holiday party this year? Are you looking for a Christmas cocktail recipe to wow your guests?

The holiday season can be stressful if you're trying to be the host with the most. We're here to help. Let's make some holiday drinks that will knock your socks off.

Here are some Christmas drinks with a festive twist to shake things up!

Spiked Eggnog

For our first festive Christmas cocktail, we have eggnog!

What kind of holiday cocktail expert would I be if I didn't start with eggnog? Not a very good one! Eggnog is a classic. It's what festive dreams are made of.

Don't be discouraged. Eggnog is a process, but all the best things take some time! Here's what you'll need for a deliciously creamy eggnog:

  • 2 cups milk
  • A dash of ground cinnamon
  • A dash of ground nutmeg
  • 1 splash of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 - 2/3 cup of granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of liquor
  • Some whipped cream (garnish)
  • Some cinnamon sticks (garnish)
Instructions
  1. Add milk, heavy cream, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat. Let your mixture reach a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  2. In a bowl, add your six egg yolks and whisk slowly. Slowly add your sugar to your whisked eggs. Once you reach a smooth, creamy mixture, you can stop.
  3. Slowly add your milk mixture to your egg mixture. Keep whisking! You don't want your eggs to curdle or scramble. Once everything is well combined, add your newly combined mixture to your saucepan.
  4. Now, add your vanilla extract and liquor (optional). Some popular liquor options include rum, brandy, bourbon, and whiskey.
  5. Stir in on a low heat. You do not want to reach a boil. Once you've reached a simmer, your mixture should begin to thicken. Remove your saucepan from the heat once your mixture is at the consistency you want.
  6. Strain your mixture through a fine strainer. Allow your eggnog to refrigerate so the flavors meld together.
  7. When ready to serve, garnish with fluffy whipped cream and cinnamon or nutmeg. Enjoy!
