Wine Tasting Notes
Planted in 1869, the Original Grandpere Vineyard is one of the oldest documented Zinfandel vineyards in America. The California State Fair named it Vineyard of the Year in 2016. Farmed by only four families over its 145-year history, the vineyard produces a very small amount of fruit each year and every ton is prized by winemakers. Andis is one of only four wineries fortunate enough to get fruit from this vineyard. This vintage offering features a rich mouthfeel with flavors of chocolate berries, blueberries, dark fruits, and peppercorns. The finish is long and lingering with spice and creamy oak. An incredible companion to grilled lamb, pork loin, and duck confit.
