Wine Enthusiast Review
From a cool section of the appellation, this wine delivers bursts of white pepper and violets on the nose. Dark in color and fierce in aromatics, it continues with a lovely balance of cherry and leather on the palate, alongside juicy, high-toned acidity. Enjoy now or for years to come.
Wine Tasting Notes
This Cherry Ridge Syrah just pops with the fruit concentration and density. Opulent black cherry, bramble and bacony notes jump out of the glass, and the promised richness is clearly delivered in the mouth. The rich cherry/ berry fruit is drawn out by the unctuous tannins of this year, and its freshness just leaves you wanting another sip. This is a wine that opens up in the glass (promising its aging potential) to bring out complex combinations of berry fruit, white pepper and leathery notes that make it a wonderful wine for richer foods. The finish is all lush fruit and spice, with no hint of heat. Try it with a great fillet with peppercorns, a braised veal chop, or just with a great cheese course at the end of a meal.
