True to the Macallan name, this is a wonderful expression of spicy oak, aged to perfection. The palate is rounded and full of character, and the finish, which is luxuriously long and warming, reminds me of a decadent plunge into soothing sauna. It warms as the feeling travels from the throat down thru the chest and into the center of the body, and accentuates with a final jolt to the soul. This rare cask (2018 Batch #2) is by far my favorite single malt.
