Wine Advocate Review
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexis, 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, is a round, juicy, slightly earthier style of wine with a medium to full body, dense ruby/purple color, spice box, blackcurrants and loamy soil undertones in a full-bodied, rich concentrated and well-crafted style. Drink it over the next decade. Drink-2025.
Wine Tasting Notes
In the glass this wine overflows with aromas of blackcurrant, blueberries and plums underlain by more subtle secondary aromas such as cigar box and mahogany. On the palate this wine starts off soft, with black fruits and violets building in intensity as the flavors evolve eventually ending in a crescendo of complex layers and flavors including blueberries, graphite, rich earth and spice. This wine will age beautifully over the next 10 to 15 years.
