The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Sauvignon checks in as 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot, all brought up in mostly French oak (38% new). Its ruby/purple hue is followed by a classic Cabernet nose of ripe darker currants fruits, tobacco, cedary herbs, and earth. Reminding me of a great Saint-Julien with its pure, elegant character, it's medium to full-bodied and has wonderful tannins, notable balance, and a great finish. It's a stunning Cabernet from this team that should have 15-20 years of prime drinking. Drinking Window 2021-2041.

Mullan Road Cellars by Cakebread Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wine reveals aromas of vibrant red and black currants, blackberry, plum skin with a hint of black tea. Swirling brings up plum puree, cocoa powder and vanilla bean. The palate is juicy, offering fresh black fruits, black tea, a hint of crème de cassis and hardwood spice. The tannins are supportive and finely accentuate the vibrant loamy minerality on the finish.
