Oak and Eden Whiskey

Finished Whiskey & The Spire

Oak & Eden Finished Whiskey is all about the technique and the process. Oak & Eden Whiskey doesn't age the way you might think. According to Oak & Eden, it's all about the wood. Joe Giildenzopf, Jamie Giildenzopf, and Brad Neathery are the three founders of Oak & Eden Whiskey. They pioneered and patented the technique of in-bottle finishing, the first off its kind.

Made in Texas, the Oak & Eden process operates with the twist. As mentioned before, the bottles finish in the bottle, a process that the founders created, in-bottle finishing. Instead of finishing in barrels , a 5 inch spiral cut piece of wood, the spire, is placed in each bottle of whiskey. The technique encourages the flavors and aromas to flourish beyond the usual, something that cannot be achieved from the old finishing process.

They created a better way to finish whiskey and it seems like it's been successful thus far. The in-bottle finishing creates smoothness, creaminess, and sweetness. On account of the barrel, Oak & Eden just didn't feel like they could create the complexity that they did with the barrel alone.

The process- the technique- it matters. It's in the taste.

Series'

Oak & Eden has three series', the Inspired Series, the Infused Series, and the Anthro Series.

The Inspired Series are the regulars, related to the flagship whiskeys that are always available. The Infused Series consists of the limited edition and seasonal releases. And finally, the Anthro Series is a collaboration with America's Foremost Ramblers.

Inspired Series

The Oak & Eden Inspired Series consists of Bourbon & Spire, Rye & Spire, Wheat & Spire, and 4 Grain.

Wheat & Spire is the only one among the four in the Inspired Series to use French Oak instead of American Oak. For the Bourbon & Spire, Wheat & Spire, and 4 Grain, the spire is charred using heat and fire for a medium toast. The Rye & Spire uses heat and fire for a heavy char.

Bourbon & Spire and Rye & Spire

The Bourbon & Spire is a deep and rich, yet sweet. The American oak has natural botanicals that range from toasted marshmallows to vanilla and butterscotch. The Rye & Spire is bold and distilled from 95% rye. The Rye & Spire along with the Bourbon & Spire both carry a collection of different awards, both tremendously popular and can definitely hold their own.

Wheat & Spire

The Wheat & Spire is different in regards to the natural botanicals because of the French oak creates a silky, smooth, and fruity finish. Oak & Eden even claims that the Wheat & Spire is the most enjoyable of the bunch in terms of approachability.

4 Grain

The 4 grain mash bill consists of corn, rye, barely, and wheat to create a complexity from all four combined. With the 4 grain, you'll taste notes of slight orange spice in the finish, along with butterscotch and vanilla.

Infused Series

The Infused Series consists of three different option: Bourbon & Vine, Rye & Rumba, and Bourbon & Brew.

Bourbon & Vine

First up we have Bourbon & Vine. Bourbon & Vine is a collaboration with Marker Cellars Winery. What happens when you take Oak & Eden Bourbon finished with a Cabernet Sauvignon steeped French Oak spire? You get something exceptional. You get something unique. You get Bourbon & Vine.

Rye & Rumba

Next, we have Rye & Rumba. At this point, I think we're starting to realize how important the spire is in this establishment. It's all about the spire. On that note, with the Rye & Rumba, we have straight Rye Whiskey finished with a Caribbean Rum soaked spire. It gives off an exquisite sweetness.

Bourbon & Brew

Finally, the Bourbon & Brew is a mixture of Oak & Eden Bourbon and West Oak Coffee's cold brew coffee! To create a deep and silky finish, the Bourbon & Brew spire is made of French oak.

Anthro Series

And finally we have the Anthro Series. Oak & Eden has collaborations with John Paul White, Jamestown Revival, Tyler Filmore, Penny & Sparrow, Abraham Alexander, Forrie J Smith, and Kina Pickett.

Each bottle is unique. The base, wood, and infusions are different in each bottle.

For example, the Tyler Filmore collaboration is a 4 grain bourbon that uses American oak with a coffee and honey infusion. The Kina Pickett collaboration takes a base of bourbon that uses American Oak with a maple syrup infusion.
